It's my birthday today. No Agile for me today. Instead, a funny story about my time in Calgary.
In English, when people talk about a university, they say UofC (University Of Calgary), UofA (University Of Alberta), UBC, UVic... you get it right.
So I'm talking with people at a house party. They didn't notice my accent (yet) and we're talking about universities. Seeing my engineering ring, they ask me where did I go. I wanted to look cool.
Be one of them. So I say:
ME: I went to the UofS
THEM: Oh, you went to the University of Saskatoon. You're from Saskatchewan.
ME (to myself): No no no, University of Sherbrooke in Québec
THEM: You've got a funny accent. Where are you from?
ME: Mmm, northern Saskatchewan
Good times!!!
